Elmer’s Great North Parade took over Tyne and Wear from 21st August to 1st November 2019 with a spectacular art trail. The individually designed elephant sculptures are based on the much-loved Elmer character.
Meet “Landmarks” who can be found lumbering around near the iconic St James Park, home of Newcastle United Football Club. He’s a black and white fan through and through! Sculptures can be found around Newcastle city centre and in various locations right down to the coast at Tynemouth. Which ones can you find?!
For 11 weeks, 50 big and 114 small elephant sculptures have taken over North East streets, parks and public buildings. It’s the biggest and brightest art trail ever seen in the region and above all is loved by children and adults alike!
Elmer’s Great North Parade is organised by and raises funds for St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice. St Oswald’s is a charity providing care, love and support to babies, children and young adults with complex needs. In addition, when the trail ends the sculptures will be sold by auction to raise funds for St Oswald’s.
Why not find your favourite Elmer and enjoy the sights of the great North East during your stay at Burradon Farm. We are only ever a 20 minute drive from a bright and beautiful elephant!
