What will you get up to during your stay at Burradon Farm this Easter?

From Easter egg hunts to train rides, museums and den building to discovering the beautiful Northumberland coast, read on for some great Easter fun ideas!

If you love the outdoors you will be spoilt for choice during your stay.  Why not get outside and enjoy the Spring weather with countryside walks, fresh seaside air or family-friendly fun at one of the North East’s many great attractions.

The Alnwick Garden is wonderful at this time of year.  From the beautiful Cherry Blossom orchard and mesmerising Grand Cascade to the Bamboo Labyrinth.  Discover water sculptures in the Serpent Garden and don’t forget to visit Lilidorei, their amazing children’s play structure!

Explore the Quarry Garden at Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens and admire its spectacular rhododendron display.  Or discover Wallington’s historical house, woodlands, walled garden and Easter activities for all of the family to enjoy. 

Howick Hall Garden & Arboretum is a delight to see and is full of cheerful daffodils carpeting the grounds from March – May.  

Seaton Delaval Hall is right on our doorstep!  Enjoy open spaces, a great café, beautiful gardens and family friendly activities throughout the year.

Northumberland’s Woodhorn Museum displays cutting-edge arts and cultural exhibits as well as a fun-filled events programme.

Seven Stories – the National Centre for Children’s Books has lots of great experiences on offer throughout the year.  From craft sessions, fairy tales and storytelling to interactive performances – your kids will love it!

Hop on a heritage steam train ride at Stephenson Railway or head to an art gallery or museum in Newcastle city centre.  There’s lots to choose from – the Biscuit Factory, Discovery Museum, Hancock Museum and Shipley Art Galleries offer fun Easter activities for all ages.  

The Bowes Museum and Beamish Museum are also fantastic days out for all of the family and favourites amongst our guests.

And of course there are lots of Easter Egg hunts to choose from!  Why not try Whitehouse Farm or Tynemouth Park.

English Heritage, the National Trust and Northumberland National Park run great events and exciting activities throughout the year.  Whatever your age or interest there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the North East and Northumberland.

Feeling creative?  Why not book an Easter Egg or chocolate truffle making workshop during your stay.  Davenports Chocolates, La Chocolatrice and Durham Distillery offer creative chocolate making perfect for children and adults!

If you’re looking to treat yourself, why not head to one of Newcastle’s  decadent Dessert Cafés?! 

Heavenly Desserts,  Kaspas or  Sweet Dreams Desserts are the perfect choice for everything chocolate!   Think chocolate bao buns, brownie explosions, crepes, milkshakes, waffles, chocolate fondue and more!

Of course, Easter is fun for your four-legged friends too.  We are pet-friendly at Burradon Farm, with great walks from the doorstep and beautiful beaches or countryside to discover nearby.
