Doggy Day Out

Are you looking for a perfect doggy day out during your stay at Burradon Farm?

Why not keep it local while enjoying time with your four-legged friend. Here’s an idea …

Up bright and early?  Start the day with an early morning sniff around the loop – a great 20 minute circular walk straight from your door.

After breakfast, head to Whitley Bay, parking at Old Hartley car park in Seaton Sluice.   Grab a coffee at the Little Brew coffee van and head along the coastal path towards St Mary’s Lighthouse and Whitley Bay.

Fancy a detour?  Take a stroll over the causeway and spot seals from the viewing point behind the lighthouse. (Dogs on leads | check the tides).

Follow the promenade around towards Whitley Bay beach, where your dog can run free most of the year!

(There is a dog ban on the beach from May – September. This is from the skatepark towards the Spanish City, however there is still lots of beach to enjoy!)

Time for a coffee and a mid-morning treat, brunch or lunch?  Halfway along the beach up on the promenade, you will find the Links Art Gallery Café.  This is our favourite dog friendly Italian café with outdoor seating and doggy treats for sale.  You’ll find it facing the car park behind the Rendezvous Café which is another dog friendly cafe with magnificent sea views.

Wander further along the beach and you will find Di Meo’s icecream at the end of the promenade difficult to resist!

Near the iconic Spanish City you will find Valerie’s Tearoom. It’s the perfect spot for coffee, cake, brunch, lunch and more.  It is dog friendly downstairs and has lots of outdoor seating.

Fancy a beer?  The Split Chimp Ale House at the Spanish City is also dog friendly with outdoor seating.

There are plenty of choices for fish and chips and icecream around the Spanish City too.

The walk there and back is around 2 hours, with as much of a break as you need in between!  For a shorter walk, just park nearer Whitley Bay (free parking on The Links just past the mini golf course).

After a little rest and sustenance, head back home to Burradon Farm for a well earned snooze (or another cup of tea!).

End the day with an evening meal at the Falcons Nest who welcome dogs in the bar area.  Just a 10 minute drive from us and offering family favourites to suit all tastes in a warm and friendly environment.

Sleep well – ready for your next doggy day out tomorrow!
