Located in Sandyford on the outskirts of Newcastle Mascalzone is a family run restaurant with a cosy and warm atmosphere. Offering authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist, it is renowned for its friendly staff and fantastic food.
Lollo Rosso is definitely our favourite Italian restaurant in Morpeth! Well worth the 20 minute drive, and a perfect place to try if you have been visiting attractions further North. Expect delicious, freshly prepared, authentic Italian food and a vibrant atmosphere – and make sure you book to avoid disappointment!
After a trip to the coast, why not try Davanti Classico in Tynemouth Station. Diners can enjoy their delicious pasta, pizza, or even Sunday lunch while sitting inside or watch the world go by on their platform terrace outdoors.
We recently visited their sister restaurant Davanti Whitley Lodge a modern Italian restaurant in Whitley Bay. We were really impressed with the food, friendly staff and easy parking right outside (important for some!).
Pranzo Trattoria and Deli is another lovely Italian restaurant located in the heart of Whitley Bay. Offering authentic Italian tapas, pasta, pizza and street food inside or on their alfresco terrace, it’s a popular, friendly, family run place with excellent food.
Geisha Italia Grill is a new Italian restaurant in Benton, just a short drive from Burradon Farm. Its unique interior is infused with a Japanese feel, the food is delicious and the staff are warm and welcoming.
If you are looking for a bustling Italian restaurant in Newcastle, Marco Polo is the place to try! Marco Polo is one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Newcastle – one that we have been returning to for at least 40 years! Spread over two floors it’s a busy restaurant in the heart of the city offering excellent food and a vibrant atmosphere.
