Calling all cyclists! We are delighted to advise that guests can now reserve exclusive use of a secure cycle storage unit for the duration of their stay. Thanks to a grant from the Northumberland Walking and Cycling Capability Fund, we have two super secure units available. Each unit houses up to four bikes – perfect for a family or group cycling trip!
Cyclists of all abilities will love the miles and miles of waggonways and cycle routes to explore straight from the door. Discover Weetslade Country Park, Rising Sun Country Park, Holywell Dene and many other scenic routes inland or towards the coast.
Those who want to venture further afield will find us an excellent base for exploring Northumberland’s beautiful coast and countryside. Why not hop in the car and take your bikes to discover Northumberland National Park, Hadrians Cycleway or the Sandstone Way.
For those with smaller legs, there is a great circular route around the perimeter of the farm. Explore a bit further and you can add an ice-cream or coffee stop too!
To help you discover North Tyneside’s Waggonways, a series of cycle (and walking) brochures are available to download here and here!
Cyclists will love the Reivers Cycle Route (NCN10). Heading North from Tynemouth Priory this route incorporates sections of the historic Waggonways network, including Burradon, before leaving North Tyneside.
The 80 mile Tyne and Wear Heritage Way also passes through Burradon Farm and showcases the rich history of the area. Don’t miss our very own Pele Tower located at the bottom of the cottage site!
Just give us a call on 0191 447 4616 if you would like to reserve cycle storage for your stay!
