The Snowdogs are back and this time they are bringing some friends! From November to January The Snowdogs, along with their Snowmen pals will be making a special appearance around North Tyneside.
The stunning sculptures, based on the famous characters in the Raymond Briggs children’s stories, make up an outdoor trail around the area. There are 8 Snowdogs to be found, along with 12 Snowmen featuring a festive Twelve Days of Christmas theme.
The eye-catching Snowdogs and Snowmen are on exclusive show on streets in Wallsend, North Shields, Killingworth, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. They are here for the winter, giving socially-distanced visitors plenty of time to track them all down.
The sculptures are already proving a huge hit and are a perfect way to encourage the kids, and adults, outside! The individually decorated figures are getting everyone excited to discover who they can find next!
The sculptures will raise funds for local charity St Oswald’s Hospice, an amazing local cause. To help you locate them all, there is an interactive app to download from app stores. A printed map is also available online or for collection from libraries and ‘customer first’ centres.
Keep an eye out for the Partridge in a Pear Tree Snowman designed by local artist Lisa Kirkbride. He is occupying a spot outside For The Love of the North shop at Spanish City in Whitley Bay, where you can also buy a print and Christmas card of the design.
