Halloween for kids in Newcastle and the North East this October half term will not be disappointing. Many of the top attractions and venues in the region have a packed family programme guaranteed to keep everyone happy.
Life Science Centre (Fri 19 October – Sun 3 November 2019). Families can get hands-on at the major science attraction! Get gory, crafty and gooey as well as uncover some of the mysteries of science with their team. Be transported to another dimension with the launch of Life Science Centre’s new Space Zone opening on 26 October 2019.
Spooky Belsay Hall (Sat 26 October – Sun 3 November). Belsay Hall and Garden in Northumberland are looking for the best-dressed witches and wizards. Join a wicked witch-themed quest as well as making a creepy crafts to take home.
Where’s Wally? The Big Museum Hunt at Great North Museum: Hancock (Sat 19 October – Sun 3 November). Kids can collect an activity sheet and join the hunt for Wally around the museum. There are also some seriously spooky stories, street scientists and real-life creepy crawlies!
Halloween Evenings at Beamish Museum. Wander the vast grounds of this historic attraction and be ready to stumble upon tricks and treats at every corner. Beamish Museum is a brilliant and award-winning attraction for all the family.
Ghost Tours and Bone-Jangling Events at Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books. (Sat 19 October – Sun 3 November). Bust some moves at the bone-jangling Spooky Jazz Party or head on a Ghost Tour of Seven Stories’ historic building.
Spooky Night at the Discovery Museum (Thu 31 October). Families can celebrate Halloween with a spooky night at the museum which includes creepy crafts and a devilish disco.
The Alnwick Garden of Screams (19 – Thu 31 October). Enjoy some spooky thrills over Halloween if you dare step into their Ghoulish Garden or enter the Garden of Screams. Expect to discover spooky creatures and skeletons on their garden trails. Take part in potion making and create your own wand to take home.
Nauseating Nature at WWT Washington Wetland Centre. Learn horrid facts about nature and brave the sensory boxes to see what’s inside when you take on Nauseating Nature.
Little Biscuits Get Arty at The Biscuit Factory (29 and 31 October). Get creative and experiment with a variety of artistic techniques and materials. Experience lantern making, have a go at printing, experiment with wire and create a cobweb tiara.
Piglet Petting, Calf Feeding and Pumpkin Carving at Ouseburn Farm (Tue 22 October – Sun 3 November). Get down on the farm and hands on. There is also chance to do some classic pumpkin carving at Ouseburn Farm too so get creative!
Tickets are required for many of these events so please book early to avoid disappointment! Halloween for kids.
